The Ninebot MAX G30 electric scooter (Segway-Ninebot) runs on 10-inch tubeless tyres (60/70-6.5) with a factory-fitted anti-puncture gel. Tyre pressure affects range, comfort and safety. Here is what you need to know to maintain and replace them.

What tyre pressure for the MAX G30?

The official Segway-Ninebot user manual recommends inflating the tyres to 32–37 psi (about 2.2 to 2.5 bar), with the same pressure front and rear. Never exceed the maximum pressure printed on the tyre sidewall.

  • Check the pressure regularly, for example every two weeks: a tubeless tyre loses air slowly without it being visible.
  • An under-inflated tyre reduces range, wears faster and makes handling less precise.
  • An over-inflated tyre reduces comfort and grip, especially on wet roads.

How to inflate easily

The MAX G30 valve is hard to reach, especially on the motorised rear wheel. A flexible or rigid valve extension makes it easier to connect the pump, and a portable air compressor with auto stop lets you set the pressure precisely. If the valve leaks, replace it: the complete valve and the inflation stem are available.

Original tubeless or solid tyre?

The original tyre is tubeless: with no inner tube, it gives the best comfort and its internal gel seals small punctures. Solid tyres sold elsewhere cannot puncture, but they are firmer, absorb less shock and generally offer less grip. To get the original ride back, choose the official Segway-Ninebot tubeless tyre.

When to replace a tyre

  • smooth or heavily worn tread;
  • cut, bulge or deformed sidewall;
  • a puncture the gel can no longer seal;
  • rapid, repeated pressure loss.

Changing a MAX G30 tyre

A tubeless tyre fits very tightly on the rim: replacing it takes tools and patience. The main steps:

  1. Switch the scooter off.
  2. Remove the wheel: the front wheel comes out of the fork; the rear wheel is the hub motor, connected to the wiring harness.
  3. Fully deflate the tyre, then remove it from the rim.
  4. Fit the new tyre with mounting lubricant, following the direction of rotation if one is marked.
  5. Inflate to 32–37 psi and check for leaks around the rim and valve.

For the front, the complete front wheel, supplied with its tyre fitted, saves you removing the tyre. If in doubt, have it done by a workshop: a badly refitted wheel puts your safety at risk.

Which tyre for which model?

The original tubeless tyre is the same front and rear. It fits the MAX G30, G30LE, G30E II, G30D and G30LE II, and it is also the front tyre of the MAX G2.
